The European Week of Regions and Cities (EURegionsWeek) is the leading European event dedicated to regional and local policies and to the role of territories in the future of the European Union. Every year, it brings together representatives of European institutions, national and regional governments, local authorities, academia, civil society and the private sector to discuss the main challenges and opportunities facing European regions and cities.

Through conferences, workshops and networking opportunities, EURegionsWeek promotes the sharing of experiences and good practices and the discussion on strategic issues for Europe and its territories, with a particular focus on cohesion policy and economic, social and territorial development.

The “Close to you” programme is part of EURegionsWeek and brings the European debate directly to local and regional communities through events organised by Regions, cities and other partners in different locations across Europe, creating new opportunities for meeting, dialogue and networking at local and regional level.

The Sicilian Region participates in EURegionsWeek through initiatives and opportunities for discussion focusing on the strategic priorities for the territory, providing a regional perspective on key issues on the European agenda and promoting dialogue and cooperation with other regions, institutions and European stakeholders.
